There is an Action Group meeting every Wednesday lunchtime between 12 and 2 for women who are either currently in an abusive and/or violent relationship or have been in the past and this is still having an effect on their lives. This service is confidential and run by female workers who are experienced in this field. It is free of charge and has a free crèche. We can also offer you free legal advice, housing and money advice.
Abuse can be physical, emotional, sexual and financial or involve other controlling behaviours. The Wednesday group aims to build your confidence to make decisions, cope with other difficulties you may have as a result of abuse and the impact is has on you, your children and your family. Other items included will be your rights & where you can go to get help, drug an alcohol abuse, how to cope with stress plus various group discussions to explore and understand both our and our partner's behaviour.
