The Collective meets once a month on a Saturday afternoon and is open to all women to come and participate in planning and discussion relating to the activities of the Women's Centre. It is at the Collective that the strategic decisions are made, by the women that attend the meetings.
Planning Group members are those women who have committed themselves to implementing the decisions made at collective meetings.
Planning meetings occur once a month between collectives, at a time agreed as most convenient to the current planning group members.
To keep the Women's Centre truly user-led it is really important that planning group members are as active as possible. This is why it is important to attend as many Collective, Planning Group and Sub-group meetings as you can.
Because the work of the Women's Centre has expanded into a number of diverse areas, planning group members are invited to join one or more sub groups in which they have an interest. The sub groups are able to deal with the business relating to a particular area of work in much more detail than is possible at collectives or planning group meetings.
At present there are six sub-groups
The Counselling Team also meets on a regular basis.
